tnkerbelle13 (USA: PA) (2010/06/01): As the Police sang: "Its no use, he sees her/He starts to shake and cough/Just like the old man in/That book by Nabakov".This book is a classic, and if you haven't heard of it by now, here's the scoop. Older man finds himself irresistibly drawn to a young girl, and embarks on an journey to of hiding in order to be with her. For how shocking the topic is, the language is quite typical of 1950's writing in that it's very poetic and lyrical. I'm not sure if Nabakov was using the language to showcase the "normality" of the relationship in the novel, or if he was trying to create romanticism with a relationship that audiences are naturally repulsed by. Either way, if you love literature, this book is a must read.
