I enjoyed this book, although it wasn't quite what I expected. It was actually written years before Philippa Gregory wrote her series based on the Queens and Princesses associated with King Henry VIII. This novel is fascinating, but focuses on a main character who isn't particularly likable. There is also a story line regarding the tangible results of witchcraft that was a bit odd, but the overall the storytelling and characters were still enjoyable. Not one of my favorites by Gregory, but worth reading.
