Then do yourself a favor: DON'T EVER BUY THIS BOOK.

This is the most pathetically written piece of garbage I've ever read. The only purpose it would serve (and this is probably an okay purpose) is to be read aloud to the blind so that they can here the story that the movie tells. I think Keith DeCandido wrote this while watching the movie; he basically describes every action that each character does. Meanwhile, the description is poor and not evocative of much in the way of emotions; as soon as he touches on a topic he feels the need to go on a tangent for a paragraph or two, so within three pages you know everything about, say, Mal and Zoe's relationship. It's like he was in a hurry to get it out on the page so that everyone who didn't know it could see it. Perhaps this would make sense if he were explaining the movie to someone. But as a novel it fails a hundred times over. Poor writing. Poor characters. Nothing new or in-depth or powerful. Don't waste your time.
