Reviews: Diana (USA: IA) (2007/09/23):
First let me say that most of the heroines in Ms Simpson's books are not your typical regency beauty. They are flawed and I have enjoyed seeing those flawed, by society standards, triumph in the end. The heroine in this book is no exception. She is has a secret.

This is 8th book in a series Donna Simpson wrote and I've found reading a whole well written series back to back very enjoyable. She now writes under Donna Lea Simpson and is into paranormal things which I don't enjoy, I prefer regencies.

My copy of this book has a slightly turned upper edge.

This is a list of the whole series. Ms. Simpson's character development does improve as the series progresses.

1st Lord St. Claire's Angel

2nd Lady Delafont's Dilemna

3rd Lady May's Folly

4th Miss Truelove Beakens

5th Belle of the Ball

6th The Rakes Redemption

7th A Country Courtship

8th A Matchmaker's Christmas - in my opinion, one of her best. Very well written, keeps you guessing to the very end.

There are 4 more which I think belong to this series but I'm not sure so am not listing them here. I'm going to try to get them and if they go with the series will list them later.

THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL

Lady Elizabeth Bournard has decided that a spot of matchmaking would be a fitting and festive way to celebrate her eightieth birthday and the coming Yuletide. What better way to reward Beatrice Copland, her faithful companion of ten years, than to introduce her to Sir David Chappell, her dashing godson? Yet, unbeknownst to her, Beatrice and David already have a shared history—one that didn’t end well…

As a party of houseguests converge for an old-fashioned Christmas at a Yorkshire estate, the hijinks begin. Now Lady Elizabeth’s carefully laid plans will go awry as Cupid joins the fray and Beatrice and David come face-to-face with the past amid holiday celebrations that will show them the true meaning of love…
