Nancy Hendrix (USA: FL) (2011/02/11): A Civil Action is one of the best non-fiction books I've ever read. It is filled with important, detailed information; yet it reads like fiction. I hardly noticed that it's been rainy and dark the last few days because I haven't been able to put the book down.Children begin dying of leukemia in a small Massachusetts town north of Boston. Residents have known that the water tastes and smells terrible, but it is not for some time that they begin to link the illnesses and deaths with two wells that they have tried to have the city close. The plot involves the lawsuit that the parents and other involved citizens eventually bring. Better than Grisham, this book is a legal thriller, a mystery, a history lesson, and mostly a treasure.
