Reviews: Aurorra (Canada) (2008/04/19):
If your a fan of the TV show (Bones) you should be aware that the Dr. Temperance Brennan in the book is not the same character. Although they are both anthropologists and female, the similarities really end there.

Roni (USA: NJ) (2010/03/05):
The character, Dr. Temperance Brennen (Tempe for short), moves to Quebec from North Carolina leaving behind a shaky marriage and bad memories to take up the position as Director of Forensic Anthropology. When an unidentified female corpse is discovered meticulously dismembered and stashed in plastic trash bags, Tempe notices the possible connection with a case that was very much like this one in North Carolina. However, she has a hard time convincing the police department to look into the case in North Carolina, so she decides to take up investigation on her own, which puts her life and some of her loved ones in danger. Can she solve the case before somebody dies?

I enjoy reading the thrillers and this is one of the most gripping thrillers that I have ever read. Kathy Reichs' heroine, Dr. Tempe Brennen, has more depth and personality to her than other characters in thriller books. When Kathy describes the scenes, they are amazing in detail, especially in the forensic anthropology area. I learn a great deal from that. There are many surprising twists and turn throughout the book, and the ending is the real shocker.
