I didn't even realize the severity of the Dirty Thirties until I became captivated with this book.
A complete page turner.
Would love more pictures to accompany the life-threads that the reader follows through the late 20's and for a decade after.
A worthwhile read.

I agree with Emily. This is a great read...more like a novel or docu-drama. Unbelievable....but the pictures are there to show it. Really a captivating history.

This is an incredible book, it has been well-researched and written in a style that is easy to read and understand. While the book encompasses a tragic time in our country's history, it also helps the reader to actually feel the pain, hardships, and frustrations of the people who found themselves in this most unfortunate place.
