Reviews: LGagnon (USA: MA) (2007/11/23):
A horribly written, ethically horrible book where a self-centered loon (or two, if you count both author and protagonist) tries to convince us that greed is good, rich people should be allowed to get away with bombing housing projects if they don't like how they look, and that some women who are raped are asking for it (quote from the author: "if it was rape, it was rape by engraved invitation"). Pass this one over unless you need a large amount of cheap paper to recycle for whatever reason.

Alan Pierce (USA: IA) (2007/12/25):
The reviewer above this this post is absolutely wrong. The idea is that bureaucrats are not the ones to take care of the poor... if you see your fellow man in need it is your responsibility to take it upon yourself to help out the needy. I think all too often we push the blame onto some governmental official for all the societal ills we wish to have cured and yet we don't lift a finger. Visit a soup kitchen... give a sandwich to somebody who can use it, encourage people to find self-fulfillment in a career that they will enjoy. That's the sort of thing Ayn Rand was proposing in this book. Yeah it's about being pursuing what makes you happy, call that selfishness, but when is going after what you really love incompatable with bettering society. The truth is it's not, often it encourages cultural growth, artistic creativity, and helps people to be enabled to do the things that otherwise couldn't or wouldn't ever get done. If you read this book I'd recommend keeping an open mind... be open to looking at things from other paradigms. After you do that only then can you critique this book well(or any book for that mater).

Gillyn (Philippines) (2008/03/30):
I love this book. Everyone should read all of Ayn Rand's books. I personally recommend this for everyone who loves life, and live it according to the best of your ability. Though, my personal favorite is the Atlas Shrugged, this one is also a good read.

Not my thing.
