Enjoyable read about a former FBI desk officer who now spends his time as an antiques picker. This particular novel, first in a purported series, takes place in Seattle, WA and Mackinac Island, MI. The Michigan connection was very enjoyable for me as a Michigander/Michiganian myself. There are many interesting characters in the main character's life. He traveled to Mackinaw for a special auction where he believes something that one of his client's has an interest in will be up for auction. The item in question is a special tea set with a provenance dating back to Napoleon Bonaparte. An interesting book written by an author who shows a keen interest in and respect for people's varied hobbies/obsessions and quirks. I look forward to the next title in the series!
