Reviews: Nicole (Australia) (2007/01/29):
I really didn't enjoy this book at all, though I was excited about reading it when I first heard about it. I suppose my main problem with it was its plagiarism and lack of originality - it felt like a melding of other GOOD fantasy books I had read. I also thought the prose was badly written. It kind of read like an original fanfiction. That's not to say it isn't worth reading, just nothing to make a fuss about. ;)
There's a fuller critique and reviews of the book on anti-shurtugal.com if anyone's interested to read further also!

Emily (USA: ND) (2007/02/20):
Much like the other negative reviews found for the book, I find the excerpts I've read to be good for a 15-17 year old but not origional enough to hold my interest. If you like science fiction and fantasy and especially cheesy books, this is yours.

B.F.F. Moochers (USA: FL) (2007/08/06):
This book was so good, I can't wait to see what happens in the next book! An awesome read. The characters and scenes are so vividly detailed that you are easily carried into the story.

Ella (USA: WI) (2007/08/16):
I thought the books was quite interesting at times, but then again they were a lot more times in the book when there was nothing interesting going on, so I got really bored of the book. A good book always has to keep the reader interested on what he/she is reading; otherwise what's the point?!!

kathy (USA: NC) (2007/08/19):
I love this book. It may seem like some other fantasy series but when you read and get hooked by the charaters and the things that occur between them it makes up for it. If you have seen the movie and thought it was good you really need to read the book it is 100 time better.

Morgan (USA) (2007/12/27):
I agree that it read like a fanfiction. It was noticeably written by a teenager, the prose is a bit choppy, and slow. I would say you're better off reading the Dragons of Pern, except those books are not appropriate for young people at all.
