Fullmoonblue (USA: IN) (2008/03/22): READ THIS BOOK. Pamuk paints an isolated Turkish town as it... what? Implodes? Collapses under the weight of a blanket of snow? Between the hotel, television and stage, characters shift, submerge, and emerge changed forever by politics and theatre.
glowstyxx (USA: CO) (2008/10/01): I had a rought time getting into this book. While Pamuk tees off the beginning with poetic details of his reasons for returning to Turkey after years of exile, he failed for me to pull all the pieces togehter in the end. The last 50 pages seemed to be a rush to the finish instead of a push to poetically end what he so eleoquently began.
