Madeline Ellis had her pride. It was one thing to let Rayne Kenyon, Earl of Haviland, help her out of a difficult situation with a persistent suitor. Madeline could even accept Rayne’s assistance in securing her a job, since Madeline insisted on returning the favor by helping Rayne retrieve some letters from a lovely blackmailer. But Madeline simply refuses to consider Rayne’s offer of marriage, for the simple reason that Rayne says he doesn’t love her. The devilishly handsome Rayne, however, is nothing if not persistent, and he soon convinces Madeline of the mutual advantages of a marriage of convenience. Now all Madeline has to do is find a way to seduce her new husband into falling in love with her!
