teachie (United Kingdom) (2008/07/06): An excellent book based on an actual historical event. This tells the story of a group of white women who go as brides to the Indians as part of a secret government plan to breed out the Indian nation. They were the first of what was supposed to be one thousand women traded with the Cheyenne. The story is told by May Dodd who marries the chief, Little Wolf, and relates their life among the "savages".
