Product Description
A novel that chronicles the lives of two women who could not be more different: Becky Sharp, an orphan whose only resources are her vast ambitions, her native wit, and her loose morals; and her schoolmate Amelia Sedley, a typically naive Victorian heroine, the pampered daughter of a wealthy family.

Dovile (Lithuania) (2008/07/04): The 5 star reviews at Amazon say it all, no need to repeat it. Just my personal impression: towards the end of the book, it steadily becomes less a social satire and more a soap opera. And while the developement of the character Becky seems quite reasonable and believable, the annoyngly passive character of Amelia (which, to tell the truth, I never liked from the very beginning) and her "love - and can't love" relationship with Dobbin made me wish that the book would end a bunch of pages sooner.By the way, the book is written in really small font (8-9 pt), so those with eyesight problems, beware.
