I read this because David Sedaris recommended it and I love David Sedaris. David and his recommendation didn't let me down. Peter Hessler's account of his two years in provincial China teaching English was a vicarious glimpse into the life of a Peace Corp volunteer. I've been to China and unlike other countries, left feeling more of an outsider than when I had arrived. You will enjoy this book if you are interested in living in another country, other cultures, teaching/learning a language, and/or China.
