To anyone thinking of buying this book don't be put off by some of the more negative reviews. I think they're being unfairly harsh. It's the first Sam Bourne book I've read since The Righteous Men and think it's even better than the first. The story is more involved, the characters are more developed - especially Maggie Costello, who is strong and believable, qualities that other authors forget to get right, and it's really exciting! As a reader you completely buy in to the difficult situations she finds herself in, and I was turning pages to find out what happens next. He portrays a very convincing world full of secret agencies and powerful conspiracies. You have to wonder how close it is to the truth!This is a really fast-paced and exciting thriller that sweeps you along, thanks to short chapters that tease you into the next. Like someone else said it's a real read it one go type of book. I took it on holiday and found it to be a perfect way of losing hours on the beach. For anyone looking to satisfy their Dan Brown fix, but with a better told story, I could not recommend this highly enough!
