Bio:
I love all kinds of books and would hang on to (almost) all of them if I could but it's time to make room and let go of some of them. I'm also trying to only wishlist books I know I'll read right away: escapist stuff appropriate for before bed; fantastic, sometimes dark, but not TOO heavy. Mostly. ;)

I prefer paperbacks to hardcovers (aside from the cost of shipping I just like the softer, lighter, floppier feeling of paperbacks in my small hands than the stiff density and weight of hardcovers). I DO NOT WANT BOOKS THAT SMELL LIKE TOBACCO SMOKE OR HAVE AN OVERPOWERING CAT-LADY STENCH. Worn, comfortable, and even written-in books are *awesome*, as long as they're not bookmarked with cat hairs or stinky with smoke. As far as the pet-fur thing goes, I'm not saying I can tell whenever a book has been within three feet of a cat, I just want to avoid books coming from more extreme feline-friendly homes that reek of litterboxes and cat piss. If your house doesn't smell like that, then don't worry about it.

For shipping smaller packages of one to three books I use padded envelopes and send them via the US Postal Service's Media Mail. I mail stuff once or twice a week. My tastes are diverse, so definitely check out my inventory to see if I've got other titles you're interested in. It probably goes without saying, but I am a non-smoker living in a non-smoking home. We have one dog, a husky, and our books never smell like her.

SOME OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS: American Psycho, The Mists of Avalon, Larry Flynt's autobiography _An Unseemly Man_, The New York Trilogy, Natsuo Kirino's _Out_, The Corrections, Dorothy Allison's essay collection called _Skin: Talking about Sex, Class & Literature_, Ellroy's _My Dark Places_, The Golden Compass/entire His Dark Materials trilogy, everything by Sarah Waters, Louise Erdrich (especially _Tracks_), and Annie Proulx (especially _Postcards_). I'm thankful I grew up on Judy Blume and the perverse trash masterpieces in VC Andrews' Dollanganger series (Flowers in the Attic, etc.). I also love a dose of true crime now and then, especially when it's written by Jack Olsen (_The Misbegotten Son_ and _Predator_ are fantastic).
