Status message:
I live in a non-smoking environment, but I do lend books to smokers from time to time - I will make note of it if I've loaned a book to a smoking friend, so be sure to read the condition if you're concerned about this. Also, since many of my books are bought used, I have no idea what they've been through. If there are any obvious odors (smoke, mold, attic, cat, etc.), I'll be sure to mention that in the condition notes as well.

On a fluffier note, I do have pets. There are birds in the house and bunnies and a horse out in the barn; the books will occasionally follow me out to the stable. I try to keep my books clean (I'm allergic too, after all), but if you have severe allergies to hay, pet hair/dander, or feather powder, please be aware that there may be sneezes-to-be clinging to the pages.

Bio:
You could call me a college student and leave it at that, but I hate cramming people into boxes, so if you want a better description, I write & read way too much, adore horses, and enjoy beaches, rainy days and a good cup of tea. I'll dabble in art from time to time, but I've never been good at painting scenes with anything other than words. I try to keep an open mind and try new things as often as possible; food's a passion - I prefer vegetarian, but I'll nibble on anything at least once (octopus was all right, actually). Hermit crabs are an odd obsession too, though I don't have any of my own at the moment.

All these interests keep me reading - I've spent a lot of time in local thrift stores, browsing the bookshelves; the people that work behind the counters smile and wave when they see me. I even get a "Hi, Em!" from the ladies who work in the smallest thrift store in town - I've been going there for years, and they even helped me pick a prom gown once while I was still in high school.

I love to share my books with friends and family; it's not unusual for five or six different people to read them before they get back to me. I like the idea of a book having its own story to tell, completely separate from what's written on the pages, so when I found out about bookmooch, I took a box of books that had been bound for the thrift store, posted it, and waited.

I think I've found something else to add to my list of hobbies. :)
