Bio:
I would rather read than watch TV - unusual for most people, but probably not fo rmembers of this club. I'm open to new experiences. In the past few years I learned to scuba dive, started raising orchids, and got a salt water aquarium. I like to travel. I'm pretty methodical about it. I've been to 49 states at least three times each - missing Alaska. Have been all over Mexico, Canada, and Central America. I went to 12 countries in Europe in two weeks (they let you drive fast there!). I know I saw a lot of stuff, but I don't remember all of it. Of course, there are a lot of things I don't remember at this point. I like to get out and do things - baseball games, Shakespeare, Broadway shows, Pops Orchestra, and lots of movies! And did I mention travel?

I read a lot of science fiction, as you can tell from my bookshelf. I usually read everything written by an author before I move on to the next one (methodical again). Unfortunately for me, that means I must frequently buy new and hard-to-find editions (fortunate for members of BM). I am also wading through the Pulitzer Prize winners for Fiction. I collect VF/VF first editions, and read the paperback versions. So you'll be seeing them from time to time on my bookshelf as well. Elmore Leonard is my favorite author of contemporary fiction, followed by Cormac McCarthy. Carl Hiassen, and Michael Chabon. My favorite color is teal. My favorite holiday is Day of the Dead. I collect Hopi clown kachinas and Santa Clara pottery. I could eat Mexican food every day!

Most of my books were purchased - many were new or in VG or like new condition. Some are in good condition, virtually none in fair or acceptable, although I frequently get that from others. I do prefer good or better so that I'm comfortable exchanging it with someone else. Check out my inventory - there are many hard-to-find titles!
